Verify your download (optional)

Installation

  1. Buy HarnessLaunch with the button above, then open the download link from your email.
  2. Unzip HarnessLaunch_Setup_v1.0.zip, then double-click HarnessLaunch_Setup_v1.0.exe inside the folder to start the installer.
  3. Windows may show a security prompt, because this installer is not yet code-signed. Click More info, then Run anyway. You can confirm the file is intact using the SHA-256 checksum above.
  4. Follow the prompts and finish the installation.
  5. Start HarnessLaunch from the Start menu.

First launch

Open HarnessLaunch and press Run DeepSeek Harness. HarnessLaunch starts DeepSeek Harness, waits until the local server is ready, and then opens it in your default browser. There’s nothing to configure first.

The first run takes a bit longer, because the DeepSeek Harness package is being prepared. After that, launches are quicker.

When you’re done, close the browser tab. To keep DeepSeek Harness current, press Update from time to time.

Troubleshooting

The download does not start

Some browsers block downloads from a new site until you allow it. Check the download bar or the browser’s download list and allow the download if it was blocked. If it still fails, try another browser.

Windows warns about the installer

Windows SmartScreen warns about files that have not been downloaded often yet. Verify the SHA-256 checksum above, then choose the option to run the installer anyway. If the checksum does not match, delete the file and download it again from this page.

The installer will not start

Make sure you are on 64-bit Windows 10 or 11. If the file was blocked, right-click it, open Properties and check for an Unblock option at the bottom of the General tab.

DeepSeek Harness does not start after installing

See Troubleshooting in the documentation for the local server, browser and update problems.
